battle of bedon,The battle of Maldon ,battles of punic
battle of bedon
500 ADA decisive battle between the Britons and Saxons; it's location and the warlords involved is something still debated.
It is first mentioned in Gildas' De Excidio Britonum, who says it occured in the year of his birth, assumed to be sometime around the year 500 CE. He places it forty-four years prior to his writing of the work, and as Maelgwn Gwynedd was still alive at the time of the writing, this would be prior to 547 AD, and so the Battle of Badon can not have happened later than 503 CE, though the Annales Cambriae incorrectly date it as late as 516. Unfortunately, Gildas doesn't say where Mount Badon is or who fought in the battle. Some believe that Badon is Bath, based on the Welsh (Baddon) and Saxon (Baþon) names for the city. However, this seems far too interior for the time period.
The Historia Brittonum says that Arthur lead the Britons: "In this engagement, nine hundred and forty fell by his hand alone, no one but the Lord affording him assistance." This is listed as his twelfth battle against the Saxons, and the most fearsome. Modern scholars believe that it was in fact Ambrosius Aurelianus who fought in the battle, not Arthur, and that the battle was against Aelle of Sussex.
The battle of Maldon
The battle of Maldon was fought on Monday, August 10th, a.d. 991 near Maldon, a small town in Essex, southeastern England. The men of Essex, defending their land, were led by Earl Birhtnoth . Their enemy was a Viking raiding-party that had landed nearby. Birhtnoth's force lost the battle. This was in the reign of Ethelred, the ninth King of England .
battles of punic
The three Punic Wars between Carthage and Rome took place over nearly a century, beginning in 264 B.C. and ending with the destruction of Carthage in 146 B.C. By the time the First Punic War broke out, Rome had become the dominant power throughout the Italian peninsula, while Carthage–a powerful city-state in northern Africa–had established itself as the leading maritime power in the world. The First Punic War broke out in 264 B.C. when Rome interfered in a dispute on the Carthaginian-controlled island of Sicily; the war ended with Rome in control of both Sicily and Corsica and marked the empire's emergence as a naval as well as a land power. In the Second Punic War, the great Carthaginian general Hannibal invaded Italy and scored great victories at Lake Trasimene and Cannae before his eventual defeat at the hands of Rome's Scipio Africanus in 202 B.C. left Rome in control of the western Mediterranean and much of Spain. In the Third Punic War, the Romans, led by Scipio the Younger, captured and destroyed the city of Carthage in 146 B.C., turning Africa into yet another province of the mighty Roman Empire.

Battle of Napoleon-4 most important battles
Battle of Napoleon-4 most important battles
Battle of Trafalgar
In one of the most decisive naval battles in history, a British fleet under admiral Lord Nelson defeats a combined French and Spanish fleet at the Battle of Trafalgar, fought off the coast of Spain. At sea, Lord Nelson and the Royal Navy consistently thwarted napoleon, who led France to pre-eminence on the European mainland. Nelson's last and greatest victory against the French was the Battle of Trafalgar, which began after Nelson caught sight of a Franco-Spanish force of 33 ships. Preparing to engage the enemy force on October 21, Nelson divided his 27 ships into two divisions and signaled a famous message from the flagship Victory: "England expects that every man will do his duty.Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar ensured that Napoleon would never invade Britain. Nelson, hailed as the savior of his nation, was given a magnificent funeral in St. Paul's Cathedral in London.
The Battle of Austerlitz
The Battle of Austerlitz brought end to the third anti-French coalition, the military pillars of which were Russia and Austria, with financial backing from England. It belongs among the bloodiest battles of the Czech lands' entire history. The Allies were lead by the Austrian Emperor Francis I. and the Russian Tzar Alexandr I. Against them stood the 36-year-old Emperor of the French, Italian King, and the mediator of the Swiss confederation, Napoleon I. Bonaparte.
The Battle of borodino
Russia's armies had led the French Grande Armee on a merry dance during its invasion of his homeland but, fewer than 120 kilometres from Moscow, the new commander general turned and got ready to fight at Borodino.
The ground he chose was excellent for defence, but he added to its strength by building centrally placed earthen redoubts and arrow-head shaped fleches.
These positions were garrisoned with some of the 640 cannons available to him and Kutusov and his 120,000 men settled in to await the French.
napoleon arrived with more men (133,000) but fewer guns (587) and while marshal davout urged him to send in a strong flanking attack, he ignored the good advice and instead embarked upon one of the most bloody frontal assaults of the era.
The emperor's plan was to smash the Russians in one great battle and so he threw his men at them with little tactical thought.
Initially the attack went well, but as more Russian reserves were committed the French found themselves in a bloody battle of attrition.
Late in the morning, a bold attack by Marshal murat's cavalry overwhelmed the fleches and around 2pm a joint assault by infantry and cavalry finally seized but the crucial Raevski Redoubt, but lacking reinforcements Prince Eugene de Beauharnais' men could not exploit their success.
Meanwhile, the Russians were moving to counter-attack in the centre, but the Guard infantry was pounded out of the action by massed artillery.
Exhaustion led to both sides winding down their efforts by 5pm and the Russians retreated during the night having suffered 44,000 casualties.
The French had 33,000 men killed and wounded but were only days off capturing the enemy capital.
battle of waterloo
Waterloo was the forth battle of the Waterloo campaign, Wellington retreating after the battle at Quatre bras in order to co operate with the russian forces retreating after the battle of Ligny under the command of Blucher. Wellington decided to make a stand at Waterloo providing the russians could support him. The battle took place on the 18th june 1815, Napoleon sending troops against the allied held farmhouse at Hougourmont as a diversion. This diversion soon drew in more and more troops and became a battle in itself,Napoleon than attacked the allied centre with D'Erlon's massed infantry, this attack only being beaten back by the charge of the allied heavy cavalry. The french than attacked and captured the farm house of La hay sainte and thinking the allies were retreating attacked with all their cavalry, Wellington's troops formed square's and beat the charges back. With the sighting of Prussion troops near by,
Napoleon sent his old guard into the attack but these too were defeated and victory belonged to the allies.
Result_ Nepoleon defeated

1756 to 1763
The French and Indian War,
a colonial extension of the Seven Years War that ravaged Europe from 1756 to 1763, was the bloodiest American war in the 18th century.
It took more lives than the American revolution, involved people on three continents, including the Caribbean. The war was the product of an imperial struggle, a clash between the French and English over colonial territory and wealth. Within these global forces, the war can also be seen as a product of the localized rivalry between British and French colonists.

The Thirty Years War is one of the great conflicts of early modern European history. The Thirty Years War consisted of a series of declared and undeclared wars which raged through the years 1618-1648 throughout central Europe.During the Thirty Years War the opponents were, on the one hand, the House of Austria: Ferdinand II and Ferdinand III together with their Spanish cousin Philip IV.In addition to its international dimensions the Thirty Years War was a German civil war. The Thirty Years War was also, at least in part, a religious war among Catholics, Lutherans and Calvinists. The series of conflicts, military and political, which make up the Thirty Years War are highly complex.
Result:-TREATY OF WESTPHALIA.
